H-Hypothermia

Hypothermia prevention is the final step in the MARCH algorithm. It focuses on preventing heat loss, which is critical because trauma casualties lose the ability to regulate body temperature, especially when in shock. Hypothermia worsens coagulopathy (impaired blood clotting), leading to increased bleeding and higher mortality rates. This is the “H” hypothermia in the MARCH algorithm.
